Your cardiologist with university and research background – personally there for you in private practice.

Why choose this practice?

  • University-level care in the practice
Active at the Medical University of Vienna and Vienna General Hospital (AKH) – you benefit from the same expertise as at the university clinic, in a calm practice setting.
  • Specialisation for your heart
Focus on interventional and structural cardiology, TAVI and heart valve therapy. Few cardiologists combine hospital work, research and private practice in this field.
  • Direct access without referral
As a private patient you can come for cardiology assessment and follow-up without a referral – quickly and straightforwardly.
  • Time and personal care
In the practice, sufficient time for your history, discussion of results and individual advice is a priority.
  • Evidence-based treatment
Research published in top international journals (e.g. European Heart Journal, JAMA) – your treatment is based on current evidence.
  • Recognition for quality
„Researcher of the Month“ at MedUni Vienna – award for outstanding scientific and clinical achievement.

Costs & Refund

How does refund work?
As a private practitioner, Dr. Demirel bills you directly. You can submit the invoice to your health insurer for reimbursement – depending on the insurer you typically receive up to 80% of the standard tariff back. On request, the invoice can be transmitted (electronically) to your insurer. If you have supplementary insurance with private practice cover, you may claim an additional portion from that insurer.

Fees: Costs for first visit, follow-up and procedures (e.g. ECG, echocardiography) are available on request when booking or by email.

Payment: Cash and card payment at the practice.

Cancellation: Appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice may be charged a flat cancellation fee.
